Procedure Day
The procedure usually follows a day-case plan with local anaesthesia at Estexper. The appropriate anaesthesia is selected according to the procedure and your clinical needs.
Observation & Discharge
Discharge after local anaesthesia is usually on the same day when the team considers it appropriate. If general anaesthesia is used, Estexper plans one hospital night; medical needs may alter observation.
Aftercare & Follow-Up
Receive dressing, wound-care and activity instructions. Confirm your review appointment and aftercare contact before leaving.

One hospital night is planned when general anaesthesia is used.
Hotel accommodation is not included. Your quotation confirms the surgical scope, anaesthesia, hospital arrangements and other services. Same-day discharge does not determine when it is suitable to fly home.

Protect the Ears While They Heal
Tenderness, swelling and bruising can occur. Dressings or a protective headband may be advised. Follow instructions on sleeping, washing and activity, and avoid pressure or trauma to the ears.
Return to work, exercise and contact sports depends on your healing. Do not remove dressings or change the support plan without guidance.
Discuss the Risks Alongside Your Goals
Risks include bleeding, infection, scarring, asymmetry, changes in skin sensation, suture problems and possible revision. Some prominence may recur. Contact the team promptly for severe or worsening pain, concerning swelling or other unexpected symptoms.

Do I need to stay overnight?
Usually not when treatment uses local anaesthesia and same-day discharge is appropriate. One hospital night is planned if general anaesthesia is used.
Is a hotel included?
No hotel accommodation is included in this treatment arrangement.
Will both ears be operated on?
One or both ears may be treated. The agreed scope is specified after assessment.
Will I have scars?
Surgery leaves scars, often positioned behind the ear or within its folds. The exact location depends on the technique.
Will I need a headband?
Your surgeon advises on dressings and protective support, including when and how long to wear them.
Can I fly home the same day?
Same-day discharge is not clearance for immediate air travel. Confirm departure timing and the early review with the treating team.
