Who is Prof. Haldun Uluutku?
Prof. Haldun Uluutku, MD, graduated from the Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Military Medical Faculty, in 1986. He completed his specialty training in General Surgery at GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital in Istanbul, where he worked as a resident from 1991 to 1995. After finishing his residency, he obtained his General Surgery expertise at Mareşal Çakmak Hospital in Erzurum between 1995 and 1999. These early years of his career allowed him to develop a strong clinical foundation and surgical skills across a wide range of general surgery disciplines.
Prof. Uluutku continued to expand his academic and professional career at GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital, where he served as a lecturer and later as the Chief of the General Surgery Department from 1999 to 2007. He was promoted to Associate Professor of General Surgery in 2006, further solidifying his expertise in the field. In 2007, he continued his professional growth as an Associate Professor at Göztepe Şafak Hospital in Istanbul, and later joined the Acıbadem Healthcare Group between 2011 and 2013.
From 2013 to 2022, Prof. Uluutku worked as a Professor of General Surgery at Özel Atlas Hospital in Istanbul. He has since continued his work at Özel Göztepe Hospital in 2022-2023, and currently practices at Medicana Kadıköy Hospital, where he holds the position of Professor of General Surgery. His medical interests and specialties include oncological surgery, colorectal surgery, trauma surgery, thyroid surgery, breast surgery, and laparoscopic surgery. Prof. Uluutku has accumulated extensive experience in both academic and clinical settings, with a particular focus on minimally invasive techniques and complex surgical procedures.
