Who is Dr. Mehmet Karaaltin?

Dr. Karaaltin is a distinguished plastic surgeon born in Kirkuk, Iraq, in 1972, who moved to the U.S. as an infant. He pursued his medical education at Istanbul University from 1990 to 2014, ranking 12th out of 25,000 in the Turkish medical specialization exam. After completing his residency in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Hacettepe University, he became a fellow of the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in 2012 and holds multiple certifications in related fields.

His academic career includes faculty positions at the University of Bezmialem and the University of Acibadem, where he has mentored junior surgeons. Dr. Karaaltin has made significant contributions to the field, authoring chapters in influential textbooks on aesthetic nose surgery and facial paralysis. He is known for his innovative techniques, particularly in aesthetic nose surgery, and has pioneered the SMART template technology.
