In a Brazilian Butt Lift, liposuction can collect donor fat for transfer to the buttocks. This adds a separate surgical stage and specific risks, including potentially fatal fat embolism. Specialist safety guidance supports fat placement above the gluteal fascia and ultrasound guidance during injection. Ask your surgeon about the proposed safeguards. Sitting and pressure restrictions after a BBL differ from isolated liposuction and must follow your own postoperative instructions.
Recovery Reflects the Whole Operation
Swelling, bruising and discomfort can occur after liposuction. A compression garment may be recommended. Follow the instructions for incision care, medicines, movement and follow-up rather than using a fixed recovery timetable.
A combined tummy tuck or BBL changes the aftercare plan. Ask about work, lifting, exercise, sleeping and sitting. Seek prompt medical advice for worsening pain, fever or wound discharge; chest pain, breathing difficulty or a painful swollen leg requires urgent assessment.
