But sagging breasts in particular are perceived by many as unaesthetic, which scratches their natural self-esteem. Both genetic factors and weight fluctuations and pregnancy can influence the appearance of the female breast. Even with age, the skin’s elasticity decreases and the breasts sink downwards. Many of our patients trust us enough to come to our practice to have a breast lift performed. With this, the breast is lifted and shaped. The feeling of going through life again with self-confidence is an important motive for many.

Before breast lift surgery

• No blood-thinning medication (e.g. aspirin) for about 2 weeks before the operation.
• Do not smoke for about 2 weeks before the operation.

After breast lift surgery

• Wear a “support bra” for 2-3 months.
• Regular scar care
• Avoid sleeping on your stomach.

You will not feel any pain during the procedure, but you can communicate with the surgical team at any time. Immediately after the operation, you will be given a light bandage and a well-fitting sports bra, which will support your breasts during the healing phase and have a positive effect on scarring. The tissue only needs a few months to a year to heal completely. This is especially true in younger patients. The end result lasts for many years. The more conscientiously you follow our recommendations, the greater the success of your treatment. For example, it is important that you wear the support bra and regularly care for your scars, ideally with a silicone scar gel from the surgery or pharmacy.

What is the recommended age for a breast lift?

We advise having breast surgery as early as age 18, when growth can be considered to be finished. Our patients, who are typically between the ages of 25 and 60, are advised of all the benefits and drawbacks of breast correction.

Can every breast be lifted?

Yes, basically every breast can be lifted. If you are currently breastfeeding, it makes sense to wait up to 6 months after breastfeeding before having a breast correction. This way, we can be sure that the shape of your breasts has returned to normal. Before the operation, you should also have an ultrasound scan or mammogram performed to rule out breast cancer.

Can the breast sag again after a breast lift?

Yes, depending on your lifestyle and also in the course of natural skin aging, the breasts can lose elasticity again. This is particularly beneficial if you become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are subject to weight fluctuations. Very often, however, the result of the surgical breast lift remains for many years.

Can a breast lift also be combined with a breast augmentation?

Yes, with some breast forms, an even greater rejuvenation effect is achieved if the breast is surgically enlarged. This can be done, for example, through the use of high-quality implants, but also with the body’s own fatty tissue for a particularly natural result.
